DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

Initial Consultation (75 minutes): This will be an information gathering and treatment planning session according to the client’s needs.

Customary Session (50 minutes): This time will be spent focusing on individual needs; suggestions for life enhancement; problem solving and the utilization of cognitive and behavioral techniques of psychotherapy. This session can include the client alone, or with his/her family members or significant others. In the event a family member or significant other attends session on behalf of client (with or without client), the fees will be customary.

Double Session (100 minutes): Same as customary session with double the time. This must be scheduled ahead of time.

Half Session (25 minutes): Same as customary session with half the time. This must be scheduled ahead of time.

GROUP THERAPY: Tuesday nights 6-7:30. Must be approved by Dr. Susan Mendelsohn. Patients who are seeing other therapists are welcome after an initial consultation by Dr. Susan Mendelsohn for appropriateness and/or approval with patient's current therapist.

FAMILY GROUP SESSIONS: Family support group for families of those struggling with eating disorders. Parents, siblings and others who support the ED patient are welcome. Please no family members under the age of 16. Must call/email Dr. Susan Mendelsohn for date each month, as we determine each date on a month to month basis.

Phone Session (25 or 50 minutes): This is a pre-scheduled session via telephone in the event of an emergency or if client or psychologist is out of town for a period of time and cannot attend sessions in person.

Internet Counseling (per 10 minutes): In the event client cannot attend a session or may be in need of special attention between sessions, (s)he may email Dr. Susan J. Mendelsohn for guidance. Fees include Dr. Mendelsohn’s time for review, processing and responding to each inquiry.

Personality Testing: Personality inventories are used as screening tools in industry, career, interpersonal relationships, and for personal growth. Depending upon the assessment tool used, the tests can take from 10 minutes to 3 hours. With most of the tests, a full report will be submitted detailing the client’s personality style as it relates to either: career, relationships, mental illness, health attribution, leadership or teamwork abilities. The results of personality testing are essential for learning to manage one’s life in a more productive and healthy manner.

Cash, check, and credit cards are accepted in this office. If you wish to use insurance, please contact Ann Florence at 513.304.9245. She will gladly verify your mental health benefits for you.
