ED Retreats

Eating disorder retreats (ED Retreats) are designed for individuals who have been in treatment for, are currently in treatment for, or are in partial or full recovery from an eating disorder.  Individuals will experience a full range of continued treatment and recovery during their attendance at these 12-hour retreats with Dr. Susan Mendelsohn (AKA Dr. Susie).

PAYMENT: For those of you who use insurance for your treatment, ED Retreats are considered a therapeutic service and can be billed to your insurance company as well. The service provided is billed under Interactive Group Therapy. You may contact my billing woman, Ann Florence, at 513.304.9245 for additional information.

ED retreats are open to clients of other treatment providers. To make a referral, please contact Dr. Susie at 513.791.6463 or via email at drsusie@me.com. A consent to release information is required from the client so I can discuss with the referring treatment provider the client’s needs and goals for the 12-hour experience.

ED Retreats incorporate activities to enhance the individual’s real world experiences through powerful group and individual programs via a variety of experiential psycho-educational, creative, nutritional, introspective, and skill building outlets.

Activities include but are not limited to: process groups (specific topics), cooking and eating all meals together, lectures, art therapy (with a purpose), scale smashing, individual journal processing, story telling, burning ED at the stake, inspirational speakers, and body image activities.
